Have a 71 2000 gas. the thing has started running ruff again. I replace plugs, points, condenser, and coil last spring. think its the carb, since pulling the choke out has no bearing on the way it runs. this used to kill the motor. Any ideas.

Just a guess, but if pulling the choke doesn't do anything, assuming the choke is working, then it's getting air from another source so that the mixture doesn't richen when the choke is closed. Hence, you got an air leak somewhere in the intake system, maybe where the carb bolts on ? Or an air leak in the carb ? And an air leak will make it run rough. Some people have said that if you spray wd-40 on the areas where an air leak may be when the engine is running, you can find where the leak is when the spray causes a change in engine performance. But I haven't done that myself. My $.02
