I am having trouble finding an affordable replacement pump for a 730 loader which is mounted to a ford 3000. The FNH dealer wants more than $900.00 for the pump hopefully someone will know where I can find one less expensive. I posted photos in the implement photo section under Pump and hydraulic pump. Thanks

From experience you probably have a vane type pump, which is heavy duty compared to a gear pump. Surpluscenter has some vane pumps, but mostly gear type. They'll both work fine, but the gear pump is said to wear out quicker. If you do a search for vane pump you will find all they have in stock. I check specs on your pump and it's a SAE 2A mount so make sure you get one that matches that.

Sorry that should have been an SAE A mount.

Charlie; You have a Vickers Vane Pump. You can rebuild it as the parts are available. You'll note that there are three sections. The center section is the "cartridge" which is replaceable. I just bought a new center cartridge that increased the GPM to 11 GPM. Bought new bearings, seals, pins and bolts for $190. That includes a $40 core charge for the cartidge. Send the old one in and you get your $40 back.

Contact Jenni at Pro-Active Fluid Power, 800 398-5733 and she can help dicypher the numbers and get you the parts. I have a sheet that she sent me that will dicypher the numbers. I'll go to the shop this morning and see if I can decode it for you. Whatever you do, don't discard the pump.

I have taken this pump to different hydraulic shops in area Baton Rouge, LA and now one knows anything they say they will research the pump no's the numbers are: V2 1S 128 15A 20 170 LH
FNH dealer had no idea what these number refered to and these are the only numbers on the pump.
If you have a number to a hydraulic rebuild shop I would appreciate it.

Have you checked with suplus supply. They sell a good number of pumps that will replace what you have for a pretty good price. Last time I priced a rebuild kit for a vickers pump it cost more then a new pump did so I have 2 or 3 old vickers pumps laying around
