When the rebuild process is completed on my little 860 it will be a working tractor. It will be used almost daily for moving tree limbs, butt cuts, wood chips etc. I need the ability to change quickly from forks to a bucket. I have looked at the device the new Massey Furgeson and Kabota use. Can this be adapted to the 860 or? I am open for ideas.

Also does anyone know if a fuel gage can be fitted to this tractor with a minimum of fuss? My loader is a popular two arm model used on tractors of this era. Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!

The fuel tank on the X00 Fords did not have an opening for the fuel sending unit. If you can find a good used tank from an X01 series it will have the opening for a fuel sender.

I have a Universal Skid Steer attachment system on my loader which I bought from Horst Loader Attachments. See if they supply one for your loader. If they don't just build one. That might be easier anyway.
The one they supplied me didn't fit my loader particulairly well, but it was made to fit a coule different loaders too. The other thing to keep in mind is that skid steers use a different back angle on their buckets so you may need a blocking kit to adapt your attachments to the skid steer attachment system to get the correct angles. Otherwise your rollback and dump angles are off. I ended up changing the pin placement on the attachment system because my attachments were made for a NH skid steer which has different rollback angles than conventional skid steers. I couldn't change the attachments, so I had to change the adapter.... and wished I had just built the adapter. There's not much too them really.
In the end it worked very well. I love the attachment system. It's nice to drop the bucket or whatever off when it's not needed too instead of carrying it around.

Yes, with a hydraulic loader set-up, you can pretty easily adapt the quick change loader set-up. I have seen them on basically every brand tractor out there. I think they are based on the Bobcat skid steer quick change dimensions, but most tractor suppliers can get you the blank plate to mount to your loader and equipment. Once you have the plate mounted on your tractor, (which may take some custom creativity) the sky's the limit. No idea on the fuel gauge.
