I am looking for a diesel tractor for restoration somewhere in Nebraska. Preferably a Ford 5000 or smaller and in running condition.I am looking for a good shop/Ag Project and I don't want to have the only thing I fix be a John Deere. I want some tractor brand I actually give a damn about.

BEN I HAVE AN EARLY 4000 DEISEL ( SAME BODY STYLE AS 800 SERIES). I BOUGHT IT TO RESTORE BUT HAVE TOO MANY PROJECTS. IT HAS PRETTY GOOD SHEET METAL, NO PS, RUNS GOOD BUT SMOKES,(MAY NEED RINGS). I AM IN MS, AND HAVE $2200 IN IT. PH. 662-289-2740 IF INTRESTED.

I know a guy in Ky. who has a early 4000 ford diesel for sale. It looks a lot like the 800 series. 4 cylinder, looks good and he said it ran really good?

5000 is a bit of a large tractor.. but a good one.

the 3 cyl diesels are all pretty similar and solid.. smaller and easier to work on.. any of them from 65 and up should be a great project.

If you find a 4cyl diesel.. make sure it is a 172 not a 144.. the 144 is getting expensive to rebuild..
