Good Morning all,

Merry CHRISTmas to all. I count myself beyond blessed (family, health, etc.) and look forward to continuing to learn about tractors and enjoy this board. When I got the tractor bug last year, my wife go this statue? for me. Any ideas??

Christmas $ for my 901 will let me get a tach cable, oil pressure guage and temp guage. Next project is to test the old cylinders on the Freeman loader and see if they are OK. Need fittings first and set them up and give it a try. Have a merry Christmas and blessed new year.

New Years goal to meet a few of the YT friends in person this coming year, possibly old and LarryNCKS. Met BJones last year at the National Ford show in Lathrop and enjoyed speaking with him. Havn't seen him post lately, but if you are out there B, Merry Christmas.

Chris

Appears to be a JOHN McDEERing with the Ferguson wheel option.. Anouther option was a sled filled with toys.

I think it's more varied than that. The hoods appear to be from a styled JD. I suppose the steering could be from the unstyled you mention. The flywheel cover looks to be something used on a later electric start model such as the 730 even.

Larry,
Please let me know if you come through this way, I would like to meet you. Ideally, I will find an excuse to come a see all of your tractors, particularly the SOS's. Thank you for your input on the previous question. After surfing a little, I would agree w/ you that it's a bit of a mut, but is a pretty good depiction of a John Deere Unstyled G from 37'-41'. Apparently get near 50hp out of these old tractors on gas, though they were built as "all fuel" and rated nearer 40hp. What did "all fuel" include??

Chris

PS - I'm sure the JD Greene wouldn't have sold as well for the Christmas theme.

hi Chris. Merry Christmas to all! I'm gonna disagree w/Old on this one. The shape of the hood and the shape of the flywheel in the second picture are reminiscent of the old John Deere A or B or trators of that vintage. The only thing that looks like a Farmall is the color and the steering pedestal. The exhaust is something totally of its own. My guess is that it's an attempt at a toy tractor that has features of several different brands and models and is not an attempt to imitate any one tractor.

Blessings on the wife and the 2nd tractor. I've been through Joe and Brookfield both, several times this year. Matter of fact, bought some cornpicker parts in Calao, B. Maybe we'll make it that way again in '08. If so we'll try to give a shout. If'n y'all come my way please do likewise.

I look forward to getting down there and meeting you and seeing the spread. Maybe I can work it in with a float trip on the Niangua, we enjoy camping and floated the Niangua when our first son was still quite young. Should be time for a return trip with both boys.

Chris

B. Jones said: (quoted from post at 12:09:30 12/25/07) Dear Chris, I usually try and get to YT at least 3 times each day.
I just don't do a lot of posting but do a lot of reading. I also
really enjoyed visiting with you last summer. I always read any
post that has your name on it, and of course Larry NCKS. I have
talked on the phone with old but have never had an opportunity
to meet him yet. There are so many people on here that are

PS. My 971-D still runs pretty good. I saw your post pushing
snow. I just got back from skiing in Colorado with my son. I
guess I still enjoy playing in the snow.

Good to hear from you B!! I'm enjoying the 971 and looking forward to getting all the guages (minus fuel) fixed. Probably stick w/ a warning light for the genny. The christian boys ranch (for troubled young men, 10-18 yrs old) that I use to work at had a 1960 971-D donated that they use once in a while. It has a fuel leak and some type of oil leak that keeps it sidelined because they just don't have or take the time to fix them. I asked my friend who started and continues to be the administrator at the ranch to park it inside or at least cover the exhaust etc. when they set it aside and I will buy it from them. Now I just have to start softening my lovely wife up for tractor #2 third party image

Have a wonderful new year and stay safe.

Chris

That model looks a lot like an F series farmall. Oh and by the way if your ever in the lake of the ozarks area give me a call you will be welcome to come by and look at my toys. Be careful though if its the right time of the year you could be put to work raking hay. LOL
