bsv www.jcwhitney.com sales them and part number is 60 AMP 14NS6048X or 80 AMP 14NS6049N you should check out this article on 12v conversion Link and you will have to rev up the tractor after starting to get the alternator to start charging or you will have to make a 2 inch alternator pulley like I did but that is not necessary good luck Rod MI

Indeed it will. However, a cheaper route is to use a standard Delco automotive alternator. I bought mine for $45 at a parts store -- they're cheaper yet at salvage yards.

The only difference is a little simple wiring and a diode or idiot light or resistor (three alternatives for the same purpose).

The standard alternator is a better match for this application anyway. The standard generators usually work better at low rpm than the 1-wire versions.

The big question is why you want to change to 12v? As many on this site will advise, 6v systems will work fine if they're properly maintained. On the other hand, if your generator is bad, the conversion route may be easier (getting hard to find people who understand generators).

I happen to have a new remanufactured one wire alternator on hand that I would like to get rid of. never used, If you find out if this is what you need I would like to sell it. (very reasonable) I will keep watching this page and let you know.

Sorry BSV I screwed up. What I have is a 6-volt (generator ) with a single pole. It is a new remanufactured generator. I got it with some other parts I purchased. I can't use it because my tractor has a two pole system on it. I Will sell it for $50.00. Please check around and tell me if this is too much. If you can even use it at all. I would have to agree with Jim on converting to 12 volt systems. I have always use the stock 6-volt systems in my old tractors with no problem. Yea sure they sound like they are turning over slow but they will crank for along time that way. If you keep your ignition system and battery connections in good shape you should not have any problems. Again sorry for the wrong information on the generator.
