Kind of new to Ford's. I finally got one today from a dairy farmer. It's blue and gray and in darn good shape, considering its been sitting next to a slurry pond for a few years. Anyway, the hood is shaped like a jubilee and the serial number is on the flat spot above and behind the starter. It reads: 21201 and then 36565 with diamonds in front and rear of the number. Its not a high crop or offset. I went to the ford ID site but it does not list 21201. What in the heck do I have?

Andy, I'm a little late finding your post, but here's the info about your model and serial numbers.

The model number of 21201 breaks down like this:

2=2000 series with either 134 gas or 144 diesel 4 cylinder engine

1=built 1963 or after

20=All purpose chassis

1=4 speed trans with non-live pto

Your serial number 36565 indicates the tractor was built in November 1963.

yep 2000. Without pics, i'm guessing you're looking at the PTO lever on the left and the draft control lever on the right. the last digit (1) in the model number 21201 indcates the 4 speed transmission. the diamonds indicate steel sleeves.

Late 1963 ford 2000. Basically the same as a 601. What trany does it have ?

It will have the 134 engine, might have a Sherman (lever on the left side of the trans just behind the SN area.

The tranny is a four speed and it has the lever on the left side kind of under the seat. It also has a "posi" lever (short & stubby) on the right side too and power steering.
So it's a 2000?

The lever on the left under the seat is to engage the PTO. It moves a sliding coupling that connects the transmission to the pto shaft. The one on the right is to go between Draft Control and Position Control for the 3pt arms. If the load gets too high in DC, the arms will raise a bit. Useful in plowing and with other ground engaging implements. Position control will just move the arms up or down according to the position of the larger lever on the right.

The Left side lever I was talking about is forward and above your left foot as you sit on the tractor. You probably don't have one. Sort of rare and also desireable.

By the way, you don't have factory sleeves in the engine. The factory stopped sleeving in about 1960. The diamonds mean nothing other than to signify the start and end of the numbers. May have had meaning earlier, but by the time your tractor was made, no.

Thanks for the help folks! I was up early this morning to take another look in the light. My wife and I are excited about this tractor - she has always wanted a Jubilee or one that looks like a Jubilee. This one has that large medallion badge above the grill - must have been one of the last 2000's to receive the round emblem?, vs the other square grill style you see on the 4000's.

Might be a difficult argument to keep the colors original – I know she wants the 601’s red and light gray scheme – “red is the color of love” she tells me.

Its your tractor, paint it however you like. We painted our 601 blue and white. Wife thought it looked more like the new ones. If the wifey's happy, so goes the rest of the family.
