I have a 641 ('59 model), that has the 801 style grill. Did it come from the factory this way or has someone replaced the orginal? It also has the Sherman style High/Low system, but the proof meter is for the four speed. Could the sherman have come from the factory? My dad bought the tractor with a frontend loader on it around '72.

I"m almost certain its a 6, but I"ll brush the numbers and take a closer look. I have some pictures to post if that would help.

Are you sure its a 641 not a 841?? Have you checked the serial/model numbers on it??

A lot of the time over the years an 8 looks like a 6. It probably is an 841.

no! 801 style grill was not factory. Someone messed w/it. As to the sherman, it could be factory or dealer installed. The four speed proofmeter is correct for a tractor w/a sherman.
