I read somewhere that forged-steel shoulder eye bolts on the front axles are good for rigging the tractor on a trailer.

Any one know the correct size and who would supply these? Are the axle adjustment holes threaded? What gauge thread?

Thanks,

Allen

I like the shackle idea, or the eye bols.. heck.. even captive hooks would be good ideas!

Allen,The holes are non-threaded 5/8".Here is a suggestion however. On the bottom of the front axle support you will find two holes also.I use a shackle on each side mounted to these holes.I then use my chain through these shackles. This keeps the chain down under the axle itself and off the paint. Also an eyebolt is reccomended for a straightline pull, but not from the side. They lose a lot of strenght when rigged that way.I don't remember what size shackles i use but the pin just will go through the hole.I can look tomorrow and post it for you.

The holes in the axles are not threaded. I don't recall the size of the holes but they are rather large- maybe 5/8". You should be able to find eye bolts at a bolt & nut supply house. I'd just wrap the chain around the axle.
