Flushing PS is pretty easy, but what it lacks in difficulty it more than makes up for in messy! First, jack up the front so the tires are off the ground. Fill the reservoir up all the way. Turn the wheel all the way (I'll pick left, but it doesn't matter) to the left. Take off the hoses at the cylinder (s). Manually move the tires so they swing all the way to the right, then all the way to the left. There will be fluid geysering out, so move slowly. Then just a little move the steering wheel left or right and fluid will start pouring out the hose. (Engine on). Closely monitor the PS fluid reservoir level and keep it full. When clean fluid comes out the hose, turn the steering wheel the other way so fluid pours out until clear. Keep that res full! Reconnect the hoses and then turn the steering wheel full left, full right 3 times. (engine on)Keep that res full as it will drop rapidly during this. The cylinder(s) will now be full of fluid. But you are not all the way done. Take the hoses back off and manually move the tires full left to full right to force out the fluid and flush any remaining yuckies out. Reconnect the hoses and repeat the step to fill the cylinders. Now you can clean up the mess. Plan on using a gal of fluid. Maybe more, depends how yucky it is. jb
