I have a 67 ford 4000 tractor with 3 cylinders. I want to know what type of fluid to put in the 3 point system. I have been told that the transmision and the 3 point share the same fluid. Can any one help me out?

I buy generic hydraulic/transmission fluid from my local jobber. It meets most equipment mfgr's requirements. It is a light weight fluid which works much better than the old 90w in the winter time.

For power steering I use regular NHC PS fluid, or automotive. I just dropped $2000 on a new steering unit (tractor main frame to steering wheel) and I am going to stick with PS fluid for that.

Also inside your pump is a filter which requires replacing periodically. You remove the input/output lines and the center screw on the back allows the cover to come off. Fill back to lower edge of opening (where cap fits). No need to bleed. Run for a couple of minutes and top off as required.

The fill for the tranny is obviously on top of the tranny cover and the full plug is on the right side by your foot(about half way down the housing). The hyd/diff fill is on top right of the diff center section, behind the seat, and the full plug is directly aft of the tranny plug at about the same height

For the PS system, use either power steering fluid or the same 134D

Along with the above, what oil is correct for the power steering?

Use New Holland 134D hydraulic oil or its equivalent. The transmission and rear axle/hydraulic reservoir share the same specification, but are not a common sump; they drain and fill independently.
