I found this video of a Ford 861 plowing the garden. I'll say this, that tractor is sure quiter than my 881 diesel.

It appears to be a 2X14" plow, about right for an 8N. My 971-D with front and rear weights pulled 3X16" in heavier ground than that. My 961 handles a 3X14" very well too with ballasted tires and no weights. I sure like that mans tractor, very nice looking and running. I'm looking for one like it.

This tractor can only reach its full potential when its ballasted. This my favorite of all the Fords. There is no compairson between one of these unballasted and one with loaded rear tires and pie weights. I know this from personal experience. Mr. Bob

His 861 is just playing with that plow, Brian.

In that ground he could pull 3x14s if ballasted.

Won't work for me either. One of two cousins that own 861s, got on a kick of plowing/discing gardens several years ago, when one person asked him if he had a plow. Next thing ya know, several others had asked, so that now supplements his retirement.

Had been mowing with it for some time, but the thing looks awful when he puts the narrow turf tires on it to mow.
