9N keeps stalling

In December I replaced the carburetor, plugs, points, condensor, distributor cap, coil and plug wires on my 9N. It runs better than it ever has in the four years I have owned it. That is, until our last snow storm on Monday.

I was happily clearing snow, when it suddenly lost power and died. Thinking I must have underestimated the amount of gas in the tank, I added a couple of gallons. It then started right up and I continued working for a couple of minutes, when it died again. That pattern kept up until I stopped in frustration. When it decides to stall, it just stalls. feathering the gas/choke, etc have no effect. Sometimes it races a bit just before quitting. I believe that the gas is not getting through. It does seem, though, that it will idle forever.

If I try to remove the sediment bowl, what am I likely to find? Is there a screen there anywhere that could be plugged? Are there tests I can try to troubleshoot?

Thanks,

Ralph

Deffinately sounds like a fuel blockage somewhere before the carb.. or even at the float valve.

Should have 3 screens/filters on it. One is in the tank which you can do any thing with, with out draining the tank. One in the upper part of the sediment bowl and one in the elbow at the carb. I would pull the drain plug out of the bottom of the carb, turn on the gas, catch it, it should have a good steady flow of gas for 5 plus minutes. Use a glass jar or something you can look at the gas so as to see if you have water in it. If you don't have that flow there work back till you find where it gets lost
