Hey all,

I thought some of you might be interestsed in seeing the parts of this part. I've not shown them all as it would give it away. The link lets you know the sum of the parts. What do you think they go to??

A more challenging question, what are the chances of me rigging this back togother so it may work? It had bound up at the main drive and quit working, thats when I tore into it. Relatively simple concepts, should be a fun little puzzle, but I figure only a 25% chance of success as I had to remove some pieces in a way that they were destroyed, will have to rig a few things up.

Chris

PS - Can a lazy generator cause a tractor to miss and lose power??

TIA

Thanks for the reply,

The parts go to a proofmeter that had seized on me. We'll see how it goes getting it back together.

Chris

Since this link is a no no on this site you will need to replace every # with a t

PS- A generator has nothing to do with how a tractor runs; it only charges the battery. But a dead battery from a bad generator could cause problems.

Thanks John,

I've got the battery on a charger now and will put a meter on the genny when I run the tractor next. Just put new points on and have hot spark, cleaned the carb a couple of weeks ago and always have good flow from the bottom of the bowl. Maybe junk in the fuel tank, just have to keep chasing it.

Thanks for the link. The hundred series has a few less screws and a few more rivets and/or spots where the metal was deformed to hold something in or on so you have to drill it out/off to take apart. It was so seized, I had to drive the main shaft out after removing the brass keeper and flared end. I will get the shaft cleaned up and spinning freely and in the mean time try to figure the best way to restrain it as the brass keeper and flared end had to be removed.

Not sure what the parts make up but if you are questioning your genny why not just throw a well charged battery on when it starts acting up so as to eliminate any question? Good luck gettin whatever them parts make together.

You could probably get several more non-functioning ones for free and get enough parts to make one good one.

awhtx,

I was reasonably careful getting apart. I believe the damaged part/parts are virtually unavoidable in getting apart. I believe the biggest challenge will be restraining the drive assmbly as it was restrained by a brass band behind the flared end of tube. I am hoping to restrain by connecting securely to the cable itself with either silicone or something more aggressive if necessary.

I took mine apart a couple of years ago and the small spring (watch spring?) was damaged.
