Is this a standard pump setup for a 55 860? I thought they all had manifolds where this one has hoses.

I picked up the tractor today. The hydraulics appear to work well with plenty of power. There are no markings on the pump whatsoever. The adapter on the frame has yellow paint residue which makes me think this was taken off an industrial unit somewhere down the line. The tractor does have an industrial medallion on the hood, but I'm not sure that that implies.

I'm picking the tractor up in the morning. In the mean time, here's a blow up of the pump area:

Standard ? No, but it looks ver functional.

How about taking some close up pictures of the pump, the adaption to the tractor at the pump and transmission ends?

If you can include part #'s that would be helpful.

I'd like to see about duplication!

Looks like it bolts right on!

I wonder what they did with the lower 'hose' connections? used a piece of the tubes and brazed fittings on?

more pics for sure!

Man how the innovative mind works when you put it in a bind and can not find the correct part or it cost big bucks. You get a will fit and make due.

Is that even the right pump.
Looks like some one had the old Vane pump go bad on him so he replaced it with a wood splitter or something pump. Kind of explains the hoses.

And what is the silver thing on the valve cover. A voltage regulator?????

Voltage Regulator? Ballast Resistor? in reply to john in la, 02-07-2008 21:02:04
My guess is that since it's mounted on the same side as the coil it's a ballast resistor.

I'd like to flow test that pump. I bet it makes more than the original pump did at it's blistering 4 gpm... I'd say that gear pump ought to do more like 8-12. The box looks to me like a reg.
The crome oil filler cap is a nice touch too... I'd love to know the story behind this tractor.
