I've had my 57 Ford 800 for about 2 weeks now and have not yet gotten my operators manual..have two questions:
*
1) There is a spark plug installed under the seat w/ the electrode facing up..is this just a "spare"?
2) on the right side of the hood, near the back, just below where your hand would naturally fall off of the throttle lever there are two small holes and a slot like there should be something there...I've not been able to find a photo that shows any sort of emblem, etc. Any ideas?
*
My serial # is 143860...I also have "860" stamped just above that. Thanks for the help..the operator's manual is on order!

Re #2, I have a 871 Select-o-speed. On the right side of the hood near the back is the PTO handle on the select-o-speed. Maybe the hole you are referring to is for this?

Right side of hood close to the driver is where my headlight switch is. Not sure about the holes you describe. As for the spark plug under the seat....seat warmer? Fart ignitor?

I'de bet the sparkpulg had the same thread as a missing stud as used to adjust where the driver bottoms out? Just a guess..... . as to the additional small holes and slot perhaps these are added by the same joker? Again just a guess. We love pictures and it would make it easier to identify if possible.
