I have a Rest O Ride seat on my 800 that needs new rubber grommets. The cost for these is almost the same as the cost of a complete aftermarket seat that you can see on E-Bay.

The aftermarket seat not only has a cushion seat but also has a cushion back,

If you were me which way would go????? ????? ???

John, I am a big fan of the Rest-O-Ride seat and have them on 3 of my 6 tractors. I personally would rebuild the Rest-O-Ride

Hi John

Just to add my two cents, deciding whether to repair or replace really depends on what you want to do with your tractor, i.e. original and a working tractor or aftermarket (comfortable) and a working tractor; or, if you are into restoration, by all means keep it and restore it. It will add to the value of your tractor.

I happen to have both types of seats, it came with both. The newer style with cushion and back are much more comfortable. But, I am restoring my tractor, so I'll be putting the original back on with an option to change for comfort.

Hope this helps.

Hey John , if you decide you aren't going to fix that rest o ride seat , send it to me . I'd like to have one to rebuild for my 640 . I've rebuilt one in the past & it is quite a job . It takes patience & some ingenuity . I had to fabricate a couple parts for the one I did . Plaese keep me in mind if you're going to pitch it . I'd pay the postage to get it here if so . God bless, Ken

john, do the same thing I did with my `63 2000, go to TSC and get a suspension seat, it is much nicer ride then the old one, and probably cheaper then buying parts, busted knuckles etc. from trying to fix your old one
