Here is a strange one. I picked up a nice original NAA the other day. Looks to have never been apart. Perfect tin, and all. But I stripped off the paint under the flat by the starter, and no sn. Just ruff cast iron. So I striped off the paint on the little flat up on the block, thinking I might have gotten lucky and found a early one. And still no sn. Just a circle with some marking on it. I am stumped! Could it have been some new gyes first day on the job and he stamped it in the wrong place? Surly there must be a number some were. Any one ever found one some were else on a NAA?? Thanks for any help!

Ive seen some 600s where the number wasnt readable.Battery acid from an overcharged battery had eaten away the numbers.

Thanks,
I had thought about that. It also has the later style emblem in the hood. Boy if it was changed it was over 40 years ago, as all the parts share the same 3 layers of paint. Red, then orange, then red. All three layers on the hood were one tint of gray or another. Pretty disapointing,if the engine was changed. That has to kill the value. Mabe if I have to rebild the engine, I will just try to find a earlier engine or block, so I can have a sn. Thanks for the info!

I have engine block with s/n NAA0929. It's for sale as soon as I can chip it out of the snow and ice. I also have the camshaft and crankshaft from this engine stored in a cabinet. Head has been sold but I have the valve rocker assembly, oil pump and other miscellaneous parts.

If you've got a Jubilee with the serial number under 22000 that's got a later engine installed in it, you'll have no serial number. I've seen a couple of them that way.

from the Vintave Ford tractors Resource:
"On early production models, before serial number NAA-22239, the serial number is located on the left front corner of the engine block, just below the manifold"
