Did ford ever put the straight ford script NAA fenders on the early 800s? I have seen some ford pic that seem to have them, but not sure. Any one know when they switched to the ones with the bend in them? Thanks!

The 55 thru 57 Ford fenders were the same except for the mounting frame. they changed the configuration in 56 thru 57. Here some photos.

Look at the back of the fender. The outer uprights are the same. Ford added a center post and took away the flat steel band across the top.

Think the "straight" fenders you talk about came out with the *01 series in 1958 and were used for years after that. Some folk call them clam shell fenders.

It is possible to find any configuration on 50 year old tractors. People tend to just through what they have or can obtain on 'em unless they want a show tractor.

604:

Fenders used on 55-57 hundred series Fords looked much like the fenders used on 9/2/8Ns and NAAs but were larger. The fenders did include the Ford script.

Fenders used on the 55 model were unique to the 55s as they used brackets designed much like the N fenders.

The fenders used on the 56-57 tractors looked the same but the brackets were completely different.

Thanks Dean. Did those 55 fenders have that bend in them, or swoop to them for lack of a better term. Or did they go straight up from the axle? Thanks!

Yes, they looked much like the N fenders but larger.
