Looking for any info on this valve:

third party image

Apparently it was an aftermarket substitute for the Ford dealer's valve. This one was set up for one DA & one SA cylinder.

As you can see it was originally yellow, then blue, and most recently red. Maybe it started out life on an industrial? I would have thought all the industrials had strictly Ford parts.

I am trying to hook up my valve as single stage for my "new" broom. Presently I use the 2 stage for my front mount snow blower on the 861. From pics shown here, I now think I can figure out how to use the single stage. Thanks for info. I've used this valve and it works good. The front is built light and it does interfere with getting leg though, but I got some sidewinders welded onto the right side to line up with the 3 point lever, so its more out of the way of inadvertant abuse. I wish I did have a manual for it though so if anyone knows of one, email me at : kblettering@kmoraine.com

I'd like to see a picture of those "sidewinders" you welded up.

I believe I have one of those.
Bought it in pieces in a box at a farm auction.
Recognized it as typically a Ford style valve.
No one else did. Got it for a couple of bucks.
One of the spools is there but out of the body of the valve. Tip was broken off where the screw in handle engages it. Might have been a good valve. Didn't seem like a very robust design to me. Found little or nothing on Google about the valve or the company. Couple posts on YT is all.
I would not buy one unless it was very cheap.
Should put the one I have on Ebay as a parts only unit.
One of those things you gotta get around to some day.

Jeff, Maybe I didn't say it right.
If I remember correctly the spool was actuated by a screw which is tapped into the handle. That screw pushed/pulled the spool by means of an eyelet machined onto the end of the spool. The eylet was broken, had been welded, then broken again.
I could identify yours easier with a pic of your actuator point.
They might be good valves other than that weak spot. If I had one I would work the handles gently. awtx,
I know where the valve is - 110 miles from here, under some other junk, in a box, in one of my storage trailers.
There's 2' of snow on the 600' drive to get in to the trailer. Can't drive and aint walking in there. Spring is around the corner. Contact me in a month or 6 weeks.

Yes, that sounds like mine too. The screw-in post looks like a grease fitting w/o the hole.

I could see, w/ the handles out in front, an accidental wrong step could pop the tip off the spool.....probably why Ford designed theirs w/ the side handles.

The tip of one of the spools in my AICO valve has been broken off and brazed back on. I am interested in buying either your complete parts valve or one spool. Send me an e-mail please.

You mentioned a broken tip where the screw-in handle engages it....mine doesn't have a screw-in handle. The handles seem to be one-piece castings.

Take some pics if you get the chance....

I"ve got one just like it, but set up for DA/DA. I recently took it off and replaced all the seals and cleaned it up.

Forgot to mention, when I pulled mine apart to clean it up, I found an oring seal on each spool...plus part of a square-cut oring in the same slot. Thought maybe it was just compressed crud packed in there, but it was rubber.

Jeff,
I believe there is supposed to be a square cut o-ring in each of the grooves in the housing to seal each spool. When I disassembled mine I found 2 round o-rings in each groove which is why I think it should have 1 square o-ring in each. Mine leaks fluid past the double o-ring setup. I have searched high and low on the internet for information on this valve and I can find nothing.

I've turned up very little so far, but my information is they were available(thru the dealers)as late as the 70's for the Ford tractors, so there must be an old dealership out there w/ some paperwork in a back room.....we just have to find it.

There are several around the metroplex, think I'll call around.

I purchased one of these for my 1964 Ford 4000 in 1980. I got it at TSC in Canton Ohio. Paid $135 for it. It has worked fine. Have run a single arm loader Ford 711. I have also used it for a normal Cylinder on a Disc or a haybine. I have mine hooked up with 2 hoses out the back and the one hose going forward. It was originaly painted yellow if I remember corectly. Mine is now Ford Blue.

Only through Ebay can you bring half the cost of the tractor on a single part....

Jeff:

These days just about any good dual spool remote valve for vintage Fords will bring $350+.

A new dual spool TISCO valve (only) costs around $600.

The best way to buy a used one that I have found is to buy a tractor complete with one, remove the valve and sell the tractor for the purchase price.
