I have a broken input shaft oil seal holder. It also functions as the slide tube for the clutch release bearing (#2 in the parts diagram attached). Anyone know of a good used parts yard I can contact?

I got a sliding coupler for my 5 speed from Alexander's Ford Tractors in Winnsboro, TX. Reasonable price and UPS delivered it the next day with Ground shipping.

Thanks awhtx. I'll call them tomorrow.

Did you have any difficulty swapping it out? I don't want to pull the tranny apart. It looks like the top bolts may fall into the transmission housing when I remove the nuts from the clutch side.

It was about 3 years ago when I had mine apart so I don't recall exactly but I would bet that if you see nuts holding that housing to the trans case then there are studs screwed into the case and not bolts that go all the way through. Lossen one of the nuts and you'll be able to tell if it's a bolt or stud.

Well, there may be a story, but it will forever be a mystery. I picked up this tractor to rebuild. It ran and operated well, but was butt ugly. The clutch must have been operating this way for a long time because the clutch has date marks of Aug 94. My guess is the last clutch fell apart and broke the coupler. A previous owner probably repaired the clutch and decided to take his chances on this part.

Probably the same part as the other 5 speeds the tractor shares it's heritage with.

Wengers is a good salvage yard.. however I'd email John smith first.. he has plenty of odds n ends laying around.
