Well, yesterday started out good, finally got the hydraulics on my 4000 working, drove it around for about an hour no problums, everything worked fine. Thats when things whent wrong, I hooked the back blade on so i could get it of the yard. Got it hooked up, whent to raise the 3-point and nothing, checked the hyd presure and nothing. So I took it back of and bloked the loader up again. Then as I was backing the trator into the shed, I herd kind of a pshhhhh sound, blew a hole about the size of a dime in the radiator hose.Just one of those days I geuss.

Thanks for the rant now i have a question

Can I replace the hyd pump with out spliting the tractor since the pump is enternal? There is a plate bolted on the side of the tank with the dipstik in it.

I'm with you. I have never had my baler break when it is in the barn during the winter, only when rain is coming!

Well, the book says that if you have oil in the sump and can't prime the pump, pressurize the sump which will force oil into the pump intake and once you get the oil in there you are good to go.

A good place to pressurize the sump would be via the "full" pipe plug on the side of the housing.

The area is large so the "force" you can create can be huge...lbs/sq in x lots of sq inches = lotta force. So, cut your air pressure regulator down to 10-15 psig range. Pop the plug on the pump and turn the tractor on at idle. Inject the air and when you see oil at the pump bleed port shut it all down , replace the plugs and go through the normal bleed cycle.

If you can't get it primed this way, either your oil is too thick or your intake screen is clogged.

Don't know or remember what you did to your hyd's but if you were into the system, you need to be sure and bleed the pump and then it make a dozen operations of the lift lever to get fluid into the lift and get everything working right. Also, is your control lever in POSITION and not DRAFT?
