I couldn"t help but notice that 5000 of yours over on the tractor pic area. Great looking machine. Did it come with that sun canopy, or did you add that. How long will that canopy last as far as the sun destroying the fabric? Anyway great tractor.

I added it.

That canopy used to be on my IH cub tractor that I used to mow the border of my small 3-ac pasture with.. but after getting a 10' mower and more land, I removed the old canopy and put in on the 5000.. so it is about 7ys old now.. and looks it. fabric has a small 1" tear in it near the rear, and is pretty faded.. used to be bright yellow.. now is dull yellow with grey splotches in it.. still keeps the rain and the sun out... Tractor supply still sells the fabric for it.. but not the same style of canopy.. I like that older style.. newer style looks simialr but just mounts differently.

Canopy ROPS in reply to soundguy, 03-18-2008 11:17:17
Do you think one would mount on 3010S-flat top fenders, but with a ROPS?

I'm sure it would.. the new frames they are making are a bit easier to mount than the old ones.. but the old ones were more friendly if you had rounded fenders... since rounded 'clamshell' fenders are'nt much around anymore.. they went to the more modern mount style.

Post some pics of that 3010s.. I came this close ( holding fingers near together ) to getting one.. but got a Nh 1920 instead.. only to trade that a few years later for a larger tractor.

I need to get a camera, one day if I can dig one up I will. This spring/summer when I begin hay season I am definitely going to. The 3010s is my work horse it pulls the haybine, and baler. I sometimes use it for windrowing also, but try to use the L2050 Kubota for that, and tedding to keep fuel consumption down. The 3010 has good power, and has been reliable. I want another large tractor in coming years to help with bringing the hay in. I have just about settled on a Ford 5000. Due to all the CDL reg"s, and cost of owning vehicles I can"t see using a 3/4 ton to bring in the hay. I don"t have far to travel from the hay field, and tractors don"t draw attention from the law like a 3/4 ton p/up & trailer do. But, I need two more seasons of hay before I move. Look for pics about May.

Digital Cameras in reply to E.B. Haymakin', 03-19-2008 08:07:33
I wandered through a Best Buy a few days ago and they had a nice digital camera with lots of pixels for $79. You can"t beat a deal like that with a stick!

Good deal.

5000's are real good machines.. i love mine.If you can't find a 5000.. look for a 5600.. same machine with a few upgrades.

And I love my 5600. I don't think you can get much better power for your money than a 5600. I've never needed more than it would give and it is very good on fuel.
