My 4000 sits outside here in Oklahoma
The weather here is from 10 degrees up to about 40 degrees. My tractor will start but won't move. When I start to let the clutch out with trans (8 sp) in nuetral it starts loading up like it is in gear.
Is my trans froze up? Will hydraulic fluid freeze up in the trans and rear end? Worked fine a month ago.
All help will be appreciated. Thanks Rick

Thanks for all the help. The tractor moved ok yesterday after the temp outside got to 40 degrees.Checked the trans fluid and it looked like white paint coming out. I know what I have to do now. Thanks again. Rick

You probably have water in the transmission. Try dumping a bottle of dry gas in the transmission. Get the good stuff with iso alcohol. After you are able to move it and get it good and warm, pull the drain plugs out. If you store it outside, make sure the shift lever boots are keeping the water from going down the shift levers. A tarp over it would probably be good too.

Either it's froze or a shifter fork broke just when you parked it and it's in 2 gears at the same time.

Have you tried letting the clutch out with both the transmission and range in Neutral?
On one of my 3000's I run it a few minutes with both in neutral then range in low and trans in N. finally range in L and trans in 1st. Run it a while and then a fluid change using the newer fluids.
Good luck.
