My 3500 ford 3 cyl diesel has a cracked cylnder bore. # 1 cylnder bore. 1971 model. Can this engine be bored and sleeved? Are there any new blocks available? If I purchase a used block, how best to determine if block is OK to use? I just use the tractor around the ranch, not much heavy usage. Thanks for any information.

Mark

A used block may not be much better then the block you have now take it to a machine shop and have them sleeve it if you plan to keep it get all 3 done you should be able to get it sleeved for less then $400.00 you can still get anew block also.

Yes, your New Holland dealer can get you a sleeve then take it to a machine shop to have fitted.
