My father in law has a pretty badly beat up Ford 2000 and I would like to help him fix it up.The problem is that he does not fully remember what year it is (probably due to senior moments,ha ha).He does seem to recall 1973, but I'm skeptical of this. What range of years were the 2000's produced. My obvious ?'s are, where should I begin to scrape the crud to find the serial#s and then how do I determine the year after I find the #s.Please help, this puppy is real sick.

Hey Butterhead if its above a '64 ( I think) it should be the flat hood style and all the info should be on a tag under the hood (well its more like a sticker than a tag ????? one of fords better ideas I guess) raise the hood where the battery is and the sticker should be there, but if not look on the bellhousing kinda above and behind the starter there should be a machined flat surface there this is also where they stamp s/n in them then come back here and look under the serial number site over there<<<<<<<<<< to find year models.

Hey gatractorman, thanx for the info.I didn't think of under the hood.I'm one of those 2N guys and the serial #s are a lot easier to find on them. I hope this is a good starting point to what looks like a nasty job. Thanx again.
