I have a 58 powermaster. Since I have the tractor split, I was thinking of replacing the input shaft seal. That doesnt look that hard. Course I have never done one before, but I saw a good post of a fella with very good pictures of his job on here. So, I thought I would try it. My question is, there is a "cap" with I guess 4 bolts on something right under the input shaft. Is that "easily" replaceable? Or am I not wanting to go that far?
Thanks for your help!

That's the end cap for the countershaft. You don't want to mess with it. Unless you want to do more learning about removal of the main gear cluster and how to set bearing preload....

Thats what I was wondering, If I was going to do the input shaft seal. Should I go ahead and replace that (PTO) gasket or seal also. Since I dont know whats behind that, I will leave it alone.
Thanks,
BZ

If you are talking about the pto bearing cap under the input shaft. You don't want to take that off to replace the seals. You just want to remove the input shaft.
