I received my 12 volt for my Ford 600. I bought a 12 volt. Now what do I do. Just a poor old farm boy, very little (to NONE) electrical experience. First thing that confused me was the changing of my GROUND on my tractor. Does mean that my 6-volt coil (which I will hook up the resistor to) have to be reversed also. Right now my positive ("+") is going to the distributor (points), but the diagram shows "a" wire going to the "+" side. Do I put the negative ("-") wire to the distributor? Had a "friend" come over and help me get started and now I think I will need another wiring harness. Can someone tell me how to wire this thing up. My ammeter that the diagram refers to doesn't work. I just need to get it hooked up and running, I need to bush hog really bad. ANY wiring diagrams OR suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You did get a wiring diagram with your kit... RIGHT.

Since you bought a conversion kit and you have very little (to NONE) electrical experience I can assume your plan is to wire the alternator as a 1 wire set up.
This may be your best bet for the time being so you can get it running. Later after you have more time and feel more confident you can come back and we can tell you how to add a few wires to make it a 3 wire set up. This set up works much better.

To answer your question..... .....
Yes you will need to change the wires on your coil. Negitive goes to the distribator and positive goes to the inline resistor and then to the key OR terminal block. Anywhere that has power only with the key on.

You can leave the amp gauge out for now if it does not work.

The wiring diagram I gave you uses a real 12v coil so you will need to add your resistor inline.

If your orginal wiring is shot just tear it out and start over using the diagram. If your original wiring is in good shape do not follow my diagram. Talk to a guy named "Soundguy" on this board. He can tell you how to wire the tractor using your original wires.

Hey JOHN IN LA.. Americansoldier again. I should have left well enough ALONE, but I just can't help it. Once I replaced the points and condensor after installing your kit, she fired right up!!! Awesome, I even got my headlights wired and are working now. I NOW have a 12 Volt Tractor, I have been box blading and bush hoggin like a mad man!!! Thanks!!! However, my original ammeter wasn't hooked up so I by passed it when I wired it. Now that all is working I decided to purchase a VOLT METER (at the advice of a good friend) and I installed it last night. EXACTLY to the diagram, (without the orange wire, by the way, ha), (voltmeter starts at 10 and goes to 16, I think)the gauge is on 10 in the off position, but when I start tractor the gauge bearly drops below the 10 mark and stays there until I turn tractor off.

HERE IS MY QUESTION(s) finally, I know.... What do I do now. The tractor has been starting and running for about a week now, with NO problems. Is it discharging? Should I check voltmeter somehow before I start tractor (or before I installed it?) Should I try and see if my original AMMETER works (that shows -30....0....+30)? Please enlighten me wise one. Thanks.

Do a search for " Ford Hundred Series 12V Conversion (very long)". The coil after you convert the system to 12 volt will have the negative going to the coil & the positive side of the coil will have 12 volt going to it. john in la has a very detailed subject on this. I used it & it works great.
