Would an early 600 (1954)in the low 5000 sn range be worth more than a late one?

In my book it would need to have a serial number within the first 100 units of production or else a unique number like 5555 in order to have any extra value. Even then, as soundguy stated, only a collector would pay more for it. A guy looking for a working tractor couldn't care what the serial number is.
BTW, did you say that you are a pilot, mechanic, etc on the Challenger 604? In my job that pays the bills I fly a Embraer 145.

To a collector looking for one like that.. maybee..

Otherwise.. not really.. IMHO.. a late model of a tractor may be worth more due to it being 'newer'..e tc.
