I have searched the past post for help on this topic but did not find anything helpful.

I bought a work/implement light, part #({8N15500-6V} {Includes 8N15532 fender bracket spacer}), as shown on parts page @ YT.

My question is where and how is the light actually mounted? I can find no logical place that will accept the spacer bracket with the two flanges/ears. Is there some other part needed to mount this light?

Thanks,
Matt

the ears on the light you have is for the L shaped bracket on a N model tractor. The round headlight cone will work but isn"t original, that being said the work light you have is very handy and is a welcome addition to the 801. The inside of the 801 has a tube to run the wire for the fender lite you'll have to run this one seperate from the tube . JR.

Matt:

The mounting hardware pictured is not correct for an xx1 series fender mounted worklight.

The xx1 rear worklight mounts directly to the fender using the threaded bolt and a socket support without a fender mounting bracket as used on Ns.

The socket supuport pictured is intended to mount to the N type fender bracket.

It mounts to the aft portion of the left fender. I believe the original light had a mounting bracket that was shaped to match the curvature of the fender. The light you got is probably a "universal" mount designed to fit any tractor.

awhtx,

Thanks for the reply, but... I must really be dense about this cause I just can't find a place on the fender where the "fender bracket spacer" will set flat against the fender due to the two ear like flanges on the bottom side, which causes the "fender bracket spacer" to just wobble around - I just don't get it! A picture may help or detailed description.

Thanks,
Matt

I believe this is an original because the bracket matches the contour of the fender. Also, there is a metal conduit on the inside of the fender for the wire to run through.
Yes, unfortunately the lamp housing has been crushed.

You need to take that socket off, and put a regular round one on. Like the ones under your headlights. Then you will probably have to drill a hole for it. I can measure for you as to were it goes. Here is a pic of an original one on my 961.

Thank you 604, and thanks to all for the help. I will get a new socket without the ears!

Thanks again,
Matt
