Finally got some seat time yesterday. Got the yard cleaned up, and the garden ready to plant. Still got about 5 acers of bean stuble to dig under. Here is a picture of my 4000 ready for the field.

Take some more pics of that.. it looks like a rowcrop with wide front?.. but can't tell. Photo bucket and my ISP don't get along.. I got about half the pic before it stopped.

 Is that a 971/981 or a 4000 SOS? in reply to Fordfarmer, 04-23-2008 07:55:21
I just bought a 1962 971 LPG and it is red/gray with "901 Select-O-Speed" decals on the hood. Is your tractor actually an early 4000 or is it a late 971/981 that has been repainted and redecaled?

I love the tough lookin' profile of a 5000.. You got the same seat I got. Are you gonna get clamshell fenders.. or flat tops? At one time I had considered flat tops with heaplamps in them like the later series used..

Ones I have my eye on are flat tops, like the ones on my 4600. Moot point, if the tranny is junk, but won't know that for a while yet. I'll probably get the fenders anyway, as I may need them for the 7000.
