I recently attempted to replace the brake shoes and drums on my Ford 2000, 3 cyl, gas tractor and discovered that the hold down pin holes in the the new shoes do not line up with the holes in the back plate on the tractor. I have reviewed the Parts Manual that I used to order the shoes and I see that the part number (D9NN2218AA) is good "from 12/66". The Transmission Production Code Number (6M15B)on the tractor indicates that it was made on December 15, 1966 (12/66) and I assumed these shoes would be correct. The other option in the parts list is C5NN2218E BTW 01/65 & 11/66. I would very much appreciate any guidance from someone familiar with the differences between these parts. Thanks.

The way that I always identified them was the end of the shoe where the adjuster goes. If the slot is a square cut, early model,if it is a half moon shape, then it is 67 on.

The slot on the old shoes is square, matching the older model. Thanks.
