I am at my desk job right now, but I want to know how wide the ball is in a toplink. A guy here is making a three point adapter for his farmall :( He's making his toplink braket and needs to know how far apart to put the pieces that the pin slides through. I am thinking 1.5 inches is close.

Any help is appreciated!

It all depends on which CATOGORY he is building. Cat. 1, Cat 2, Cat 3.. Go over to a farm store and take your 6 in. ruler and measure a top link. :-) ..JB

Well, using my time wisely I found a standard by the ASAE on the internet that specifies the ball width to be no more than 44mm (1.73in) and the mast spacing (the mast is that part on an implement that receives the toplink) to be no less than 44.5mm (1.75in).

So maybe this info is useful.

I'd rather err on the wide side and need a few washers or spacers. I was thinking it's more like 2 - 2 1/2".
