I recently bought a 53 Ford Jubilee that has a front end loader on it. I want to temporarily remove the loader and have removed the large retaining pins and disconected the hydraulic line, but I don"t know anything about the pump at the front? How does it come apart from the tractor? Can the front PTO be disengaged? The previous owner said something about the shaft has a spline on it and it will simply just pull apart? Any suggestions?.....Brent

BHM I have a Davis Loader on my NAA that has a front driven Vickers pump on it. I have quick disconnects on the loader arms and I built a kind of Jack Stand assy. for each arm that supports them and the bucket. I take two bolts out from the arms, support the loader arms with my jack stands disconnect my quick connectors done deal. On the Davis loader the frame for the loader has it's own oil resevore built into the frame of the loader the presure and return lines go to the frame itselt and the control valve for the loader is piped in with quick disconnects. Perhaps yours could be the same I know it's a real problem cause the NAA DOES'T have power steering thats why i'am toying with the option of putting the loader on my 841 good luck BHM

Well first off its not really a PTO but either way there for the most part are 2 types of pump drives. #1 is a splined shaft that will pull right out if all is well and #2 a treaded shaft that will pull out by turning it backward of what the engine turns. Either way you need to remove it or burn out a pump that will cost you big $$ to replace. Now then why pull the loader. I know On my 841 I will never ever pull it off its just plan to handy and it also holds the front end on the ground and even at times its not enough

Aloha BHM I have 641 with a wagner loader on it. The front pump shaft is of the threaded type. When I remove the loader I take the two hoses on the pump, fill as much hyd fluid as it can take then clamp the two hoses together. It has worked for me. Mahalo Mike
