I'm thinking about selling my trusty 1949 8-n and buying a 1976 3000 with a bushog 4000 loader &7foot rear blade. the tractor is in overall good shape ect. hood needs paint and needs aseat. How much should I expect to pay? what's a good price? Thanks in advance.

As he is with most everything else, Bern is right on the date. 75 was the last production year. How much is the qeustion of all time. Really depends on location and to some extent options on the tractor. I saw a 3000 with a front end loader in excellent shape in the classifieds(in central KY) priced for $8000. That seems a little high though. You said it needed some paint and a new seat. The tractor might have sat out in the weather(as we all know, real bad thing). If that's the case, and saying it's a 75 model with moderate hours(around 4000), I'd say around $5000 for the tractor and loader. The other implements not for sure on. If the tractor has been well care for and the paint is just naturally wearing off, then I'd say somewhere between 6 and 7 thousand for the tractor and loader. But again it's real hard to say as it depends on a lot of things. I will say that I own a 66 3000(gas) and I wouldn't sell it for anything in this world. Knock on wood, it's still going stong. Hope this helps. Casey

Thanks for the advice. The paint has just weathered. It's had a fresh tune up and battery mostly just needs tlc. still dickering.

If it is a 3000, it could not have been built in 1976. These tractors were manufactured between 1965 and 1975. You may wish to find out how old it really is before you lay out any money. What's it worth? I'll leave that question up to someone who knows more about that than me.
