Super Major Brakes, and housing seal

Here's the next installment in my Super Major brakes story - I took the left side apart, which was giving me the most trouble, and everything looked pretty good in there. Not a lot of dust, the brake discs were free on the splines, the center actuating plate moves freely, the springs are in good shape. The only thing out of the ordinary was a slight seepage of oil from the seal in the brake housing. Not enough to make the brake disc oily to the touch, but the inner side is a little darker color than the outer side, probably from the oil. It's hard for me to believe that this small amount of oil would cause the brakes to lock up, but I don't really know.

Anyway, I'd like to replace the seal since even if it isn't causing the current problem, it is sure to make trouble later on when it starts leaking worse. But my Ford dealer says that seal (Ford part number E1A DDN 2773A) is no longer available. Does anyone out there have a cross reference number for that seal, like a CR number for instance? Or another source?

Thanks in advance for any info anyone out there might have.

Dave

I replaced my seals this year, bought them from Melbourne Tractors, my local CNH dealer. They were not cheap. Steven B

Steven B - would you have the CNH part number? My Super Major parts book lists the number as E1A DDN 2773A
