Ford 6000 engine in Major

Will an early Ford 6000 engine (6 cylinder) bolt up in a Fordson Major? I have found a bunch of old 6000's, and I would like to purchase one or two of the engines if I can put them in a Major. Wouldn't mind fixing one of those 6000's, but that Selecto-speed trans is junk.
Thanks.

won't bolt in, better choice would be the 330 dagenham diesel, will bolt to the transmission but would take some frame and hood work. quick way to get 75 - 80 hp. english diesels were much better that the american conterpart. the select o speed is a good trans, if you know how to fix them correctly the first time. most people that worked on them needed to be more educated on that particular trans.

Where would I look for the 330 diesel in the US?
I agree with your statement concerning the English diesels.

Versions of this engine were used in Ford and New Holland combines.

the dagenham 330, the offical ford # was the 590E was an industrial engine but was most common in ford mid duty trucks of the late 60s and early 70s. county and Roadless in england installed quite a few in majors. an other choice would be the dorset built 363. easier to find, in ford combines of the mid 70's but perhaps to much power,,, around 110hp

How do I know a 590E when I see one?
Any specific serial numbers I should look for?
Thanks.

Looks exactly like the engine you already have but with six cylinders.
