My book with the serial #'s starts at 1952???? I have a super power major deisel , later model 1959 or newer, and would not sell it for less than 6500.00 It of course is in almost new cond. and used very little--

I wouldn't take $2000 for mine. And it's a gas model. Mine is straight, but needs paint and front tires. The Perkins diesel was a conversion, but quite desirable. Should be fixable. Most of the rest of the tractor was same as the New Majors until 1964. Pretty rare amongst Ford collectors in the US. More common in Canada, Australia, etc. You have to figure that it doesn't have much utility value, just a parade vehicle. (Some did have a 3 point, though.) It also probably has pretty low parts value, since almost no one is using them and wearing them out anymore and few are restoring them. So, I wouldn't gamble more than $1000 on one in unknown condition. On the other hand, if it's close to your home, you'd probably have to spend over $1000 to go get the next nearest one.

You are not really giving a clue to the tractor to allow us to give a price. It could be an E27N Major made up to 1952 with a Perkins 6 cylinder Diesel or it could be a New Fordson Major made from 1952 with a Ford diesel. Has it got three or six gears. Is the fuel tank along the top of the engine or at the back of the engine.

Under No.1 injector, on a plate on the firewall at the back of the engine or on the flange behind the starter will be stamped a number, Quote this and we can tell you model, month and year.

$500.00 sounds a very good price but we need to know the model to give you a fairer idea.

Then she is an E27N Major. She may not be as handy as she only has three gears, possibly no hydraulics. If you just want her for sentimental reasons and a little light work It would be a good buy at around $1500.00. Over in England they are advertised at $3500.00. She is a collectors machine. Not too many were fitted with the Perkins P6 from the factory.
