Diesel fuel in the oil section of Simms Injection

I am getting a significant amount of diesel fuel into the oil section of my Simms pump on a Super Dexta. Have to change the oil very frequently. Does anyone know if this means big trouble with fluid bypassing the pump barrels or maybe just a bad seal? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you have a Minimec pump and you mean that diesel is getting into the governor oil then some diesel is ok.

The manual says that the oil should be checked once a week and allowed to drain down to the level, then changed every 100 hours. If you are getting the governor filling up every day or less then you have a seal problem not a pump one.

I appreciate your reply. I have the Minimec pump with the mechanical governor(just like the picture at Fig F0534A in the manual). Diesel is collecting in the oil rather fast. A noticeable amount is there a couple of hours after oil change.

Is replacing this seal something that I shouldn't attempt if I stay clear of the precision pump section?

Thanks again
Blanton

I am possibly not the best person to advise on this. I have been working on these tractors for 40 years and am a trained Simms engineer. I would not attempt to repair any part of the pump without the proper conditions or tools. Conditions include a totaly dust and dirt free environment.

This is one part of the tractor I would take to someone who is a specialist.

This is only my opinion and is based on the fact that when I repair something I warranty it.
