I recently inherited a 1917 Fordson Tractor Sir# 3

It last ran 45 years ago and has been parked in a coverd shed.

Any idea of its value?

From what I read Henry Ford late in 1917 after the MOM Fordsons were built for England made a few Fordsons for his friends and one of these serial#1 was made for Luther Burbank and is in the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn MI but it is not the first Fordson made, so you may have one that was made for a friend also.

Hi Dale, The tractor may not be what you think it is. If it were that early you would wake up tomorrow and find me and about a dozen other guys beating at your door with fistfulls of cash. Here we go: Please answer the following and I will assist you in dating your tractor. Look for the serial number on the right side on the flat above the first manifold bolt. Does it say Fordson across the top of the radiator? Is the oil filler on the left side at the front of the block or in the middle of the block? Does the oil pan have a large cleanout plug in the bottom? How many spokes do the rear wheels have? Are the sides of the radiator housing cut out like a ladder? What if anything does the manifold say on it, tags or castings? Look the tractor over for dates cast into it. Look on the rear axle housings, dash, oil pan. That ought to give us an idea of what you may have there. Butch
