Good day,
I have the oppertunity to purchase a Fordson Major E27N Gas. It is fairly complete and the owner says it is running, but I have not seen it run yet. The Grille and the temprature gauge are missing. Are these parts available? I don"t want to buy something and find that I cannot get parts for it. Thankyou

There are a lot of E27N's in Canada, but you might find something at the Fordson House in Escabana, Michigan. Link

Not all E27Ns had a temp gauge. If it had a pressurized radiator, the gauge location hole was plugged with a slotted screw. My 1950 model is this style. I have no reason to believe it is not completely as produced. The pressurized radiator also has an outside overflow tube.
The "calormeter" was made by Willmot-Breeden after 1946.

Hi Lourens,
Grilles are around in Australia, but so far I have not seen any temp gauges. I am missing one myself. The other problem that you have with the temp gauges on the E27Ns is that they tend to be almost impossible to unscrew out of the top radiator tank, you generally have to take the whole radiator when you find a temp gauge and that can make shipping very expensive. The E27Ns are quite a popular tractor over here though and I have been told that temp gauges do turn up from time to time though. Depending on what part of the world you are in, the parts should be available but you might have to be patient. If you are stateside you might try>Link

Regards, Frank.

Temp gauge can be found at: Link which is suitable for all Fordsons. This is in England so not sure of freight costs. Other places do them too, don't know about availability in the US. Grills/cowls can be expensive unless you find a place that sells fibro replicas or get second hand. They are around, it's just a matter of searching for them - internet/breakers etc.
