I Have an old fordson that needs some serious mechanical work, and I am trying to determine the year, and model in order to search for parts.I am not able to find any sequence of numbers, but the following is stamped in the casting a bit behind the starter. EIADKN 7007F The block has M22Z stamped on theleft side, and on the right side is DDN and F2X. The hood has a Power Major decal, but I am not sure if this is the original hood, as the motor was put in some years ago from another tractor. This tractor also has a differential lock, and I don't know if that was available on Power Majors.

Welcome any help, or information on where to look for more numbers.

Thanks Majorman, for your help. What would the cubic inch displacement of this motor be? I also have purchased an old gas major that needs some valve work.I haven"t had a chance to look for numbers on it, but just wonder if they will be located in the same place, and what motor this will likely be? Thanks Again Doug Smith

Doug,

Looks like you have a Fordson Major ASP (All Spare Parts):0)

The engine is October 1956 but the rear axle is after 1960 as the first tractors with dif.lock was a Super Major. You will also have draft and position control hydraulics rather than the straight up and down ones fitted to the Fordson Major Diesel and Power Major.

You will also have inboard disc brakes rather than the out board shoe type.

There should be casting codes near the clutch linkage and on the rear axle that will allow you to date those parts too.
