Hi All,
I need to know the head bolt torque settings for a 1950 E27N Gas. I looked in the archives and some-one suggested "good and tight" whilst another said 75foot pound. Which is correct and does any-one have the conversion from foot pound to Newton Meter.
Many thanks
Lourens

1 ft.lb = 1.35582 Nm

None of my manuals list a torque for head bolts on E27N. Just says to tighten in order shown in diagram and to retighten after 6 hours of use.

The service manual for the New Fordson Major - Petrol gives a torque spec of 75 to 80 ft.lb.

I wouldn't go any more than 75, probably a little less.

Allen
