PTO on 1963 Fordson Major Tractor

My friend looked at a 1963 Fordson Major tractor, diesel, it has no PTO.

Did these tractors come without PTO's, or has the seller just removed it.

Also how hard would it be to install one

Any info would be appreciated.

Has it got hydraulics? The Super usually came with PTO and hydraulics although they could be ordered with neither. If it has neither it will be a big job to get the bits unless you have another scrap Super.

Thank you for the reply.

I am not sure if it has hydraulics. It does have a blade at the front. So I am not sure if the blade is working off an auxillary pump. However I have not seen the tractor. My friend just called me to ask about the lack of a PTO, since he knew I had one. I will get him to inquire further as he is thinking of buying it. However, he is not sure if he will want it if a PTO cannot be put on for a reasonable cost. The seller is asking a firm price of $2000 CAD.

Also, we have no scrap Majors as they are quite scare in Nova Scotia.

I had been looking for one for over a year until I finally found mine, then my friend just happend to pick up the buy and sell paper and there was this one listed.
