When this darn weather warms up, I will start pressure washing and sandblasting my 1954 Major diesel. I have taped up all outlets and any place where sand could get in where it is not wanted. I suspect I need to be especially gentle around the injector area - any special tips or no-nos I should be aware of? I only want to do this once the first time..... ..... ...

Make sure you double check everything you have sealed up before you start sandblasting, because that stuff will get into places you never dreamed, and can do pretty serious damage. When you think you have everything sealed, go over it again. A little water in a crankcase or transmission isn't going to do much damage, but sand will definitely spoil your day.

You should have a gearbox breather bolt holding the battery tray/front fuel tank support to the gearbox housing. This normally has a slightly taller head than a standard bolt. Also watch for vent holes in the rear axle filler cap or another breathe bolt holding the seat on.

Thanks MM, I wondered why that gearbox bolt was taller..... ..... .I recently retired from business and have built a big heated workshop to restore antique tractors and wooden boats. And getting into this Fordson is a great project ..... .life is very good! Best for Hols, David
