I've run into a Fordson Major, 6 cylinder, 4 wheel drive tractor. Standard cat.2 three point to the rear. It's in running condition but tires are most all shot. A large, heavy machine with double drive shafts, one to each front wheel. All tires are large tires. Anyone out there have any information regarding value, engine type, etc? Is there someone out there looking for one of these?

Sounds like you have a County Super Six around 1962 to 1964. These are a very sort after tractor and usually command a good price if they are in resonable condition.

The engine will be a Ford 590E industrial engine as no Major was ever fitted with a 6 cylinder one. These engines were fitted to the skid units at County Commercial Cars in Fleet, Hampshire, England where the tractors were assembled.

County worked closely with Ford and some tractors were badged as Ford for export. They also made a 4 cylinder version.

This tractor is in running condition. needs rubber (at least one) appears to not be broken up, sheet metal is good. Can you give me a ball park value?
