I have a 1963 Fordson Super Major

Engine Serial # 08C966435

It was my understanding the FSM came with a dual clutch

According to the manual: Primary gearbox is in high range when shift lever is in "up" position on single clutch models or in "down" position on dual clutch models

On my tractor high range is up and low range is down.

according to the above it would seem I have a single clutch.

My question is this:

Was the Dual clutch an option, so that if the tractor was not specifically ordered with a DC then did they come with a single clutch.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Kenneth

Live PTO (Dual Clutch) was an option.

If your primary lever has high as up you have a Dual Clutch. You cannot have a single clutch in a dual clutch tractor as the gearbox is totally different or the other way round.
