It's hard to say. There were never any specs that I know of. If you are getting blowby out the oil filler hole it indicates bad rings. I don't know how you could put a compression tester on it unless you've got a really big buddy to spin it for you. Usually if you put your finger over the spark hole if it pushes back at you it has enough compression to run.If it runs without blowby I would leave it be.

Thanks. 1, 2, 3, had 15 lbs dry. Put oil in cylinder they came up to 40-45 lbs. Sounds like rings? #4 had 0. Probably a stuck valve? What do you think?

I think you ought to just go ahead and pull the head and take care of the valves. Maybe thats all you need to do. Might as well do it as it will start and run a lot better regardless if what condition the rings are.

Anyway, Less compression makes for easier starting. My back likes those old worn out Fordsons
