Fordson Pierce govenor

Hi all

Im in the proses in restoring a 1929 fordson. It has the aftermarket Pierce govenor. But the linkeges are mesed up. I was wondering if anyone has pics and or info on how this thing was conected. Also any info on a serial number begening with a CT.

Hi Bud, I think your Fordson may not be a 29'. The 29 Fordson would have a factory mag mounted on the right side of the engine and a built in magneto just forward and driven from the mag gear. The Pierce Governors were mostly found on the F model 1918-1928. Linkage for them can be a bit complicated as the rod goes back to the dash where it pivots over and connects to the trottle linkage. Unfortunately I don't have a picture for you. Maybe others can help. Look on this site for serial number information under research and info. There were no serial numbers starting with CT that I know of. Your serial # should be found just above the forward most manifold bolt on a flat just below the head. This Fordson is a odd one. it could vary well be a 1928. Thanks for the info though. It has a english gas tank irish wheels and the trembler coils.the serial number is abuve the manafold and it does begen with a CT. I will get the number tonight and post it and maybe you could tell me the year. many thanks Bud

Make sure it doesn't begin with 67XXXX. That would be correct for 1928's
