hi guys

just thought id post a msg telling that ive started my 6 cyl conversion fordson super major 1964.stripped and free off the brakes and took the wheels...well its a start!!any advice
by any 1 done ths b4 feel free 2 write.

its the engine out of a ford cargo. not sure wat numbers it is!!

thanks for showing an interest.it givs me insentive 2 carry on when things are going wrong!!

things are going ok so far tho!!

Pictures can be posted, but I haven't done it. Do a search on the Ford 8N-9N-2N board. They are many instructions included for posting pictures. I would love to see the process you are going through.
I don't know what motor you are using, but from what I understand the 590E Dagenham was used in Medium Duty Ford trucks and NH combines here in the states. Supposedly the original Fordson 4 cylinder was just a cut down version of the 590E. Someday I will track down a suitable motor to do a conversion with. I have access now to a Power Major that is complete except for the engine, and I think it would be better than sliced bread if I could put a 6 cylinder in it.

whats the difference between the super and the power major?? ive been told that my major is 1 of the last b4 they changed to the thosand series.


but im not sure...!

hello. :o)


i posted a couple of pics in community album nowt very x iting yet tho.
just 2 give u an idea of wa it looks like!
hopefully this week end should see it get on a wee bit further mite try and get some wheels organised for it.u prob noticed... no front wheels!!!!
think me mate malcolm has something just for just now so its easy to move around the yard.

What motor have you chosen for the conversion?
Good luck and keep us posted. I have wanted to do this for years, but I can't find a 590E.
